True, that history is nothing but the biography of great men, but it is the events that made these men and not the men who made these events. It is history that creates great people and not great people who create history.
Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth President Of the United States: He was from a poor family. But his actions brought him to the fore front. He struggled for the Blacks not to covet for his name in history but to help people. His actions not only had a significant impact on the course of history but also carved him a name in history.
Even, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, better known as Mahatma Gandhi wouldnt have been great unless the British invaded India. It is a fact that Gandhiji started Satyagraha but it would never happen had the British not invaded India. The event made the man. Had this event never taken place Gandhiji would never be immortal in the minds of millions all over the world. Thus we can see that average people change the course of history and move on to become great people in life.
And not only history, even our present life is witness to this. We go to any movie theatre and see posters of the latest Bond movie starring Daniel Craig. From the time Bond movies have started, there were many who played the role of James Bond. But these movies were polular even when someone else played the role of James Bond. So, in this case too, it is the event (Movie or script) that made the man (the Hero).
Another example could be of Mother Teresa. Lending a helping hand to the needy people was a part of her life. She never did it for the sake of getting her name in history. But with her zeal she had automatically set her name in history.
So there goes my opinion: An average person... with his daily actions... can easily have a significant impact on the course of history
