Known Unknowns

Those Days are gone, those Feelings over,

Yet why in my mind do they hover...

Like vultures who eat the mortal remains...

Of the immortal soul that bears the pain ?

Why, those obstinate feelings still remain,

As I look at your face in pain,

I know somewhere, that it's all in vain...

But my heart doesn't let it drain !!

I cried and tried, to get over those days,

To get over those infantile dreams I chased,

To forget that you ever existed in my life's story...

And to realize that you're my soul's history!!

But the feelings just don't go, I can't think of you as a friend or foe,

We are, I guess, just Known Unknowns, and we'll forever be so !!
